The Awkward Law of Insomnia

Sometimes I have trouble falling asleep at night.  I know I’m going to have to get up early the next day, and I want to go to sleep, but my overactive mind takes it way too seriously.  I try to shut my eyes, and my brain just starts freaking out.

You better get to sleep Right Now!!!  You gotta get up early tomorrow, and if you’re out of energy, you’re not going to get anywhere tomorrow!  You’re gonna stay up too late, and then you’re gonna sleep too late, and then you’ll drag your lazy carcass out of bed at 10 in the morning, and then you’ll run out of energy in the middle of the day!  GO TO SLEEP NOW!!!

And I’ve found that it’s really hard to fall asleep when you’re worried that you can’t.
